"A spokeswoman for Greenwich said it spread a government-approved mixture of salt and glass". I wonder how widespread the practice is. I remember seeing a stretch of road on Friday and actually thinking it looked like glass rather than salt.
I rode through Greenwich every day when snow was on the ground and never noticed any of that, maybe it was only in certain areas as the routes I took all looked untreated.
