Hi Folks,

This is a bit of an odd one.

I've built up a new pack (7s x 2) for one of my bikes and one group of cells (EIG 20Ah) sit upon another in the frame. Photo attached.

The balance leads for the lower pack are something like 400mm long. Is it ok to have a have a set of slightly shorter leads for the upper pack, say 300mm long? This is so that the leads end up at the same place and length as they come out of the box, without being bunched up inside.

Cheers,

They're used for sensing, when no current flows, so you can have them as long as you like.

When charging, they're also used for balancing, but again the current is very low - something like 40 milliamps - so length isn't an issue.
