Help! Clicking noise from torque sensor (Eleglide Citycrosser)

Hello All!

I have an Eleglide Citycrosser (this) which is equipped with rear wheel motor (as in picture) and bottom crank torque sensor.

The bike has about 2 years but not much used (about 1000 km).

I quite like it, but the torque sensor has never worked very well: sometimes it does not detect pedalling until I pedal for a second anticlockwise, some other times it does not dected the torque correctly and the motor assistance delivered is too low. It is a pity, as I can't really trust the motor assistance because of this.

Since last year, it also started making a clicking sound, as something inside is either cracked or not moving as expected.

I am trying to identify which model of torque sensor it is, without removing it first (as I am using the bike these weeks), but the only information I have is that on one side there is in white BC1.37" L.H and on the other side indications on the torque to use (see pictures). No model number or brand.

Which model do you suggest I buy to replace? Is there a better model that would be compatibile with the battery / controller / motor? Or, is there any chance to repair / restore the existing one?

You haven't shown any meaningful photos of a torque sensor. That'sjust a couple of bearing retainers.

Some torque sensors have a calibration procedure at start up. If you have weight on the pedal when you switch on, they get false settings, which might be why you're getting variable assistance. Always keep clear of the pedals when you switch on until everything has properly started.

Clicking can come from side to side freeplay in the bottom bracket or from the cranks when the crank bolts aren't tight enough. The only way to be sure is to disassemble everything and check.

Thanks, I am aware the photos don't help much, but I didn't want to disassembly it these sunny days, as the bike is in use. I hoped the writings on the nuts were somehow recognizable.

I am aware of the calibration, so I avoid touching the pedals for about 10 secs.

The clicking comes when I put some pressure on the pedals. I'll see if I find the time to disassembly, check it, note the model and put it back.

Yes, but they don't even know what is part number. They are waiting for the supplier to confirm.
