got in to bios and like i said did not change anything changing the usb settings computer says no pcie usb 3 and usb2 as no drive letter

but everything else still works just not usb storage drives but the dvd drive has a drive letter D

Have you checked if automount is enabled? Perhaps the Win10 update disabled it? Or a crash may have screwed up the registry? Is there a repair Win10 facility in Win10 setup?

Once I restore a partition I deleted, I might delete it again after copying some files, then install Win10 to run Ableton, and Ableton only, because the latest version doesn't work on Win7 or 8. Airgapped.

i can slap a new hdd sata in to it as have 4 bays so not a problem but a update must have screwed something up just cant be bothered to nuke it and reinstall atm.
