Hi guys

I have a 36v G020 250w. I believe also referrred to as a SWX02, am I right?

The motor is laced into a 27.5 wheel. I believe the motor is a code 13. Full code from wheel is as follows.
RM G020.250.DC 13.

Which kt controller do you recommend for this? 15a, 17, or 22amp?

Any links appreciated.

Secondly is it best to run it at 36v or 48v?

Thanks

Is this one of the cheap sports direct/Evans/House of Fraser wheels originally from a Pinnacle Mercury. It just fits the description even has a 13 winding.

Best to run from a 36V perspective regarding legality and reduced cog/gear wear rate but from a performance viewpoint 48V would be better.

I bought one of those wheels and I thought the KT15 and KT17 controllers were well matched to it but 22A seems a little high to me. I mean 22A at 48V is over 1000W its definitely going to give your motor hub and your battery a rougher time at peak power. The motor is meant to be 250W which probably means peak current around twice that is expected maybe 500-600W.

I guess its a choice how far you are prepared to go between safety and danger.

Yes i picked it up a few days ago.

I thought it was worth a punt.

I think I have settled on a KT 17A controller, the one with the bigger fets.

I just mneed to decide wether to go 36v or 48v battery.

Have you decided on a battery and controller yet?

I'm not sure yet, I've not had it delivered yet so will decide when I have it in my mitts. It should be delivered any moment now. Between 12pm and 2pm.

I bought this kit from Amazon warehouse a while back for £88 and I'm thinking using bits of that. Even the controller at 22A but I'm thinking of low legal speed settings to minimise current output. Basically I was going to use pretty much everything but the supplied 20" wheel and use that with a weaker controller and smaller battery pack as the folding bike I have I don't really want a heavy battery on it and its used for smaller trips. I was going to run that at 36V with a low power controller

So I was going to experiment mixing and matching a bit. I was hoping to put a smaller controller box on the frame of the folding bike and have the battery in a saddle bag.
