Help please with a Kalkhoff Sahel

Hi, I have a Kalkhoff Agauttu and a spare battery and saw a Kalkhoff Sahel advertised with a failed battery pack.
I have purchased the Sahel and the original battery is charging but when the battery is connected up the screen comes on but shows zero charge! I can select the assist mode but nothing happens when I pedal the bike.
I have fitted my Agattu battery and its the same. The previous owner said he simply put the bike away in full working order and assumed that the battery had died. Any ideas please?

It has the Impulse 2.0 motor is this enough info?

Take the LCD off and clean the contacts. after that, drop the motor and check the battery connections.
