Its indirect, graves and pompholyx is autoimmune dysfunction triggered by stress (for me), regular exercise relax, distract in ways nothing else does. Good on you for losing the weight. Nothing like a direct health threat to motivate change, I've found.
Modifying habits to delay pleasure and pain is a often an underdeveloped necessary survival skill.

That's true but potentially complex. Easier to delay pleasure and pain one has on some level understood, made peace with, but that can be quite a journey.

A suprisingly large number of people I know are considering taking Ozempic, paying for private if necessary. Self-discipline not required is an attractive prospect, ones undies suddenly being filled randomly and uncontrollably with greasy poos less so. My mentioning this side effect seems to put them off. An acquaintance went with stomach volume reduction surgery (not gastric band) and lost 6 stones. Capacity was reduced to 250ml.

God, didn't know about that, sounds grim. If I were younger (& arrogant) I'd say therapeutic metaphor in there somewhere (trying to dispose of one form of loss of control, mess - ones eating - resulting in another more public experience of loss of control, mess). But as dylan say the human mind can only stand so much ('things have changed'), and my eye is bad today (graves) so all i have is sympathy.

I'm not convinced intense cardio with heart disease is a good idea - precisely what killed poor Douglas Adams. He signed my copy of "So long, and thanks for all the fish" then he was dead. The two events weren't related, it was the gym. And boy was he a fatso.

Should have said so at the signing (perhaps without calling him fatso), i liked his writing. i follow the discredited rule of thumb of not sustaining an average heart rate above 220 minus my age. Perhaps cardiac arrest's a good way to go (care for someone with motor neuron disease and absolutely do not want to go that way).

Did 150 lower back-safe sit ups yesterday, 200 knee-safe squats - not all at once. Safer these days to spread them out throughout the day in manageably small numbers, rather than all within a few minutes like many years before. Not young anymore unfortunately. Pressups today, free weights again tomorrow. Destroy muscle tissue to grow back stronger. Much prefer compound exercises at home...

While using my small old but SSD upgraded Sony VAIO-P with inbuilt bluetooth function as a walkman, I noticed clicking noises when connected to bluetooth headphones because the VAIO-P's bluetooth is an old version... annoying clicking noise easily removed by using either of the two bluetooth transmitters posted about in post#1.

Mine's older, black, with VGA and an 8 hour battery.
