I am looking to upgrade the gear shifter which means replacing the gear cable, just wondering how this works given the shift assist Kalkhoff mentions.
Is the cable just a single line of cable that I can feed through the housing or is there something else going on?
When I needed to get the brake cable housing replaced by my local bike shop I am sure he said something about how the gear cable is connected in two parts but just wondering if anyone else has hands on knowledge of how this works and what I am getting myself into.
