LCD5 programming

I've just fitted LCD5 + S06S controller with 20" Q100h.
I need to find and set the wheel size so that speed etc. is correct. I have printed out both LCD5 and LCD3 instructions - but it's driving me NUTS.
I turn on, wait the 5 seconds, then press up + down together. The top and bottom lines of the display flash. I can clear trip time and distance, but that's it.
Can't get to set max. assist speed (not too bothered) or anything else.
Can anyone help before I take a hammer to it?

I think that's your problem. You need to press and hold [up] & [down] within 5 seconds of powering the LCD display, not after.

That's it. press the up and down buttons straight away. You have to kick yourself now. Sorry.

DOH!
Can't imagine why the line, "After power on for 5 seconds, hold up and down at the same time" made me think I'd got to do it it after 5 seconds.
