Hi All,

just thought I'd share a few pics of my 1st ever Ebike build on my cube sl Ltd 29er.

I made a few tasty upgrades which included a 140mm boost fork and a boost front wheel running a 3" maxxis tyre, larger 203mm front XT rotor, Renthal fat bars and Apex stem and a suspension seat post to soften the potholes.

Its got a schwalbe marathon plus gt rear tyre and slime tube ( which added an extra 4lbs in weight to the back wheel )

All in all I'm happy with the build but it wasn't as straight forward as Andy's video would allow you to believe.
Riding in pas5 I've had over 40mph and with the upgraded front end it feels so stable.

Used as a commuter bike ( the odd dirt track/paths but not proper off roading) really comfortable and handles the speed really well.

Let me know your thoughts please and if you see something that's not right please let me know.

Thanks .

I don't like your torque arm installation. Basically, you're relying on the friction of that 5mm screw to resist the motor's torque. The rest isn't doing anything becaause the force is up and down. I'd flip the piece on the axle so that you get more of a right-angle. It's the same on both sides.

Looks great! (but I am still building my first one) good tip about the torque arm. I've got a chunky piece of stainless flat bar I'm going to make one from

Hi,
Yes I agree, I will be looking for a better solution to my torque arm problem.
Ideally fabricating something that fastens to the holes in the rear drop outs that are there.
Apart from those and the size of the loop I've left where the cable enters the hub motor are there any other areas I could improve?

There is a spare tapped hole at 1'oclock above the axle can you not reverse & fit the axle part of the torque arm then drill a hole in it to line up with that tapping ?
A one piece TA will always be better then a two part one with joob clip.

Hi mate. I'm looking at this kit to fit to my cube. 2017 analog 29er With the cassette it's saying it will need 142mm of dropout space at the end. What was yours on that bike? Cube frames are usually aluminium, so stretching the frame out wouldn't generally be the best corse of action.

The kit also comes with a single speed cassette but not sure I really want to go down that route. Any help appreciated.

Thanks.
