I have a 10S 36V 10S4P pack that is based on the REENTION Kangaroo RK-4 platform. These batteries are a nightmare because there is only a very small space for the BMS and wiring, so too small for a Daly BMS.
I previously had an ANN POWER AN-350 BMS in both my batteries, with separate C-/B-/P- and switched output. The only issue initially was that I had to put an ideal diode on C- as power was appearing at the charge terminals when switched on. Unfortunately after a year both developed cracks in surface mount components and the model now seems to be no longer produced.
So I tried a BeMuchSafer model which seems to be most popular on AliExpress. This has two problems: (a) when the charger is plugged in power appears at the load side regardless of where the power switch is, and (b) when the battery is plugged into the bike it will also not charge, instead cutting on and off every few seconds. Apparently these two things are related, with the presence of current flowing across the load resulting in some sort of safety trip on the charge side. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to discern which BMS have this problem.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a small 10S 36V BMS that can support >20A out, >5A in and supports a power switch and doesn't have this stupid limitation of needing to unlock and remove the battery from the bike every time I charge it? Because I just seem to keep buying junk that I can't return once fitted.
Thanks
