Dave is a musician friend of mine and we’ve written songs and played in a band together since we met at college. I had an idea a while ago related to a song entitled “end of the show”. Dave composed it on a piano and I love it. Its one of those pieces that you could imagine hearing walking into any pub … anyway, my idea was to go to pubs with pianos and video Dave playing the song. Have a pint and leave. Having uploaded the videos to utube you would then up with a unique collection. I was thinking of creating www.pianopubs.com or something which could act as a resource for people to find pubs with pianos and for pubs to advertise themselves … i.e .. do my bit to keep music live and keep pubs open ….

Anyway, Dave has been on holiday in NZ and being looked after by a friend called Andy who use to roadie for the band back in the 70’s. I told Andy about the idea and set him the task of finding pianos and getting the video footage …

Yes. That would be great. You find a place with a piano and we'll be there! .. I was thinking of killing two stones and promote the CycleCharge scheme at the same time. I'll park my Street Machine outside in its security bubble suitably daubed with the CycleCharge logo ......

Dave, any pubs in Swindon or surrounding area that you can suggest? Playing a massive UK pub crawl to celebrate my redundancy. So, far its somewhere in Ilminster, ...

Dont be such a b***** spoilsport LOL ......it could be hidden in a corner......and Im a great believer in doing 'in depth' research.......ambience, quality of the booze , hospitality etc.......

It'll be interesting to see just how many there are left in the UK and where they are. i.e will there be more up north? .. anyhow ... just used google web create and knocked this up which I am pretty pleased with:

Yes, I would suppose that there would be more up north....but I will keep up with the research down here.....I know, I know, its a hard life...but someone has to visit these pubs......

Just sometimes, odd little tiny times..... I get this little nagging thought that when I come on this forum its occasionally like entering another universe........but I must learn to shake those thoughts away and go with the flow........
