Q: battery de-spot

Hello,

does anyone have some handy experience advice of removing spot weld nickle strips from 18650? I've tried a few methods, dremmel the spot, pliers, teeth.. but still seem to manage little holes in the battery surfaces.

Use thin pliers and roll them off like you do when you open a sardine tin with one of those keys, then dress the top with a Dremmel to remove the pips.

Rolling off strips works well though on the V+/cell top do ensure an inuslator ring is in palce to prevent a short when rolling the pliers, a good spot will always leave pips.
