Replacement motor

I have a KT-LCD3 display and a 500w front direct drive motor. I would like to increase torque and reduce weight by fitting a 250w motor. Would my existing display and controller be suitable ? Any advice please

Probably. How many amps is your controller (written on label)? Do you have a PAS and throttle? How many volts is your system? Have you still got your original front wheel?

Yes you can, simply use C5 to limit current as you may strip the nylon gears with too much current.

Yes I still have the original front wheel but I had to file out the fork lugs for the motor so not sure if it will fit back in. I have PAS and throttle

A Q128 from BMSbattery would be a good choice, but I would switch to a rear one because it will make a lot more torque. It would tend to slip on an incline, and if you have aluminium forks, you'd need to reinforce them a lot. A rear motor is always better. Rear Q128 comes in two flavours: Q128C cassette version for 8 or more gears; Q128H for 7 gears or fewer.
