I have a Shimano Powered EP8 800, that does not power up, the battery was fully charged when I last turned it on a week previous, on trying to charge it the LED on the power supply comes on for about 10 minutes the goes off.
Recently I had an Error E020 battery communication error, I cannot take the battery out to check as it requires a motor removal, its only done about 3600KM but out of warranty.
Any assistance appreciated.

Only two options once any visible connections have been checked.

Take it to a dealer or investigate further yourself.

1. Take motor covers off, locate the various cables and remove, check, clean if appropriate and replace all plugs. Comms can be disrupted by tiny amounts of detritus between the contacts, making enough of a conductive path to prevent clean signals. I had that problem recently on my Ridgeback. Dry white sheen on the plastic surface between the comms contacts on the battery mount.

If that doesn't work,

2. Remove the motor - only six bolts - and then you can get at the battery... It will be a tight fit, you need to be careful not to round off the hex sockets in the bolt heads, but otherwise not something to be intimidated by. You might even get away with removing four, loosening the other two and rotating the motor in situ for access to the battery connector...I'm assuming there is a connector at the battery end.

3. If there are connections on internally routed wires you might need to access those.

Otherwise it's the dealer or an ornament.
