Throttle negative wire purpose?

Hi,

This is probably a really stupid question sorry!

My bike controller has a 3 wire throttle connector.
live, neutral and sensor.

I’m trying to figure our a basic throttle,
can the live be connected to the sensor with some sort of push switch to full throttle or does the neutral have to be used somewhere?

if it does, how would it be best wired to a sprung push button?

many thanks!

Throttle on ebikes like pas & spd sensor use a Hall sensor that need three wires. The Hall needs to see 4.5 -5v so needs the Gnd and 5v wire, inoperation it needs to see low voltage or a pull down voltage, typically approx.1v so this is where the signal wire comes in against the gnd, so gnd is all and important.

Thanks, after sleeping on it I got a better brain to work it out.

turns out the throttle is limited.

Now looking at pulse generator to splice in the pedal hall sensor.
All for off road use obviously.
