How would i find out what the torque is on a 2000watt ebike that has 56volt/15amp hour battery and 40amp hi-powered 18 mosfet controller. The wheel size is 29 by 2.25. Im 101kgs, 5'10" and eMTB which is a converted Coyote Lexington 21speed weighs in total 36kgs(bike and ekit) Any help on this subject would be helpful. Ive two 12% gradient hills to go up approx quarter of a mile long. Would this ebike get up the hills with ease of pedalling or no pedalling. Thanks. Andy.

Any particular reason why you need to know this?
If i remember its measured in lbs - feet, but how you`d come to a that figure with your set-up and so many variables is another thing.
Just jump on and enjoy your bike, forget about some obscure mathematical figure!

if your battery can support the whole 40A out of the controller, 21 mph top speed going up that 12% hill at 62NM on 700C wheels.
You do need a very good battery though.

edit:
21kph, 13mph

Thank you Woosh. So 62NM is the rough figure

yes, but torque varies with speed, highest when the bike is near stalling and drops with speed. A 2kw motor will give a practical speed range up to about 33mph on flat roads if your battery is up to it.

So should be good enough to get me up a steep hill with ease with limited pedalling or no pedalling. Thanks.

So basically it will have an impact on the motor and so be aware of this
As long as the speed stays up around that 13 mph it won't be serious. Only if you let it slow right down with 2000 watts draining though the motor will it get like an electric fire, the current producing heat instead of motion.

I already have a new ebike thanks Andy hope yours is everything you wanted it to be[/QUOTE
With the throttle sticking sometimes still scares me even i could go out on it, but just want to be safe rather then sorry. In your opinion does it sound like the springs gone and could i fix it if needs must??

I am fairly new to ebikes Andy i have never stripped a throttle so i would not know but i have seen a few diagrams and pictures of them and they seem very simple to fix
