HI, I'm looking for some advice troubleshooting a fault with my ebike; consisting of a KT LCD3, KT36ZWSRM(36v 11a), 500W rear hub and 36v21ah LI-ION.
Recently its original KT LCD1 stopped working after being caught out in a heavy down poor, after replacing it im getting no readings on the display however the motor does receive power at a noticeably reduced rate dropping even further after 5 minutes or so of heavy load. The battery is giving out 40v.

Is this the duel power 250/500 watt kit from Cyclotricity? If so, you will only get full power using one of their LCD1 displays with the extra setting. Using a LCD3, you are only getting 250 watts.

thanks for the quick reply, it is indeed but when i say reduced power i mean almost negligible not comparable to 250w

If your new display is blank, then the problem may be with the controller. Check all the connections are good. Do you have PAS and throttle?

KT programming has a C setting for different screens as you had lcd1 it was set for C11 &1, for lcd3 set the value to 0 and see if that helps.

The downpour though may have affected the controller if moisture got it at all.

No throttle just pedal assist, also the lcd powers off after 5 minutes so i assume there is no communication between the motor and the lcd. ill reassemble it and give it a another test.

Lcd receives comms/voltage via the controller along the TX/RX lines, the controller then sends power to the motor.

The fault is between battery - controller- lcd, though try changing C11 first to value 0.

Can you toggle through the PAS levels while the LCD is on?, the low power may be due to being stuck on level 1.

It would seem there is a comms problem between LCD and controller. It's worth checking none of the pins have pushed out of the LCD/controller connector, esp. the RX/TX wires, green and yellow.
