Finding my (electric) wheels

My Viking electric bike has lost most of its power. I thought it was the battery so I had it recelled. However, the problem has not gone away.
The handlebar monitor shows the battery on full charge but the power only comes on in brief surges which last a few yards and then disappear. This occurs on all power settings.
Needless to say the bike is out of warranty. Any suggestions as to the likely problem?
Also I cannot find a bike shop to repair Viking bikes. They say they will only repair makes they sell. Again any suggestions?
Tony.

Look under the bottom bracket/crank area and look for a pedal sensor and a magnet disc, the gap between sensor and passing magnets should 1 - 2mm also check alignment and that the sensor doesn't rotate as well.

Thanks for your help. I will try this tomorrow.

I tried your advice. I discovered the magnet plate must have been knocked as it was over 1cm from the sensor. I adjusted this and the bike now goes like a dream. I am very grateful for your advice. Much appreciated.
