Hi All,

I recently had to replace the 30A fuse in my Wisper 905eco battery.
The only ones I could find were glass fuses.
Can anyone tell me if it is a problem using a glass fuse instead of the supplied ceramic type fuse?

Everything seems to be perfectly normal so far!

Ceramic fuses are preferred for use inside enclosures. When the fuse blows, very little heat is generated thereby lessening the chance of an internal fire.

If a glass fuse is the only alternative, it should be a quick blow type. Slow blow glass fuses should be avoided in enclosures, They can get very hot before finally blowing.

As a matter of interest, I notice that Phylion have now returned to glass fuses on their batteries, having previously used ceramic.

Providing the glass fuse you have fitted is of the quick blow variety, I don't think there is any reason to worry.

Hope this is of help
Regards
Bob
