Woosh Gran Camino brake pad change

Finding my (electric) wheels

Hi all,

I feel like a bit of an idiot posting this, and I’m guessing this is the relevant part of the forum to post in…apologies if not!

I bought a Woosh Gran Camino and feel it’s time to replace the brake pads, but I can’t get the wheel off! Specifically the front wheel…not even looked at the back one but as it’s nuts should be straightforward. But the front wheel has an odd contraption I’ve never seen before and I can’t figure out!?

One side is quick release which is fine but then I can’t figure out getting wheel off. I’m sure I’m just being daft so I’d appreciate someone pointing out the error of my ways if possible.

As a bonus question, I assume I can’t replace the pads without taking the wheel off. Am I wrong again? And if I take the back wheel off (has the motor on), will I struggle to get it back on?

There’s nothing in the manual about this (which seems odd) and I’ve not yet heard back from Woosh (I messaged via their webpage), so I’m trying here.

thanks in advance!

You don't take the wheel off to change the pads. Instead, you remove the two radial screws that hold the brake caliper to the adapter, then lift off the caliper. It's just two screws.

When you put the caliper back on, leave the screws loose, then hold the brake on hard, then tighten the screws while holding on the brake. That procedure is necessary to get the pads in line with the disc.

The nut thing on the wheel looks like an anti-theft device, for which you need a special tool to loosen, though normally they have those nuts on both sides.

The gran camino has a through axle front wheel. Watch this video or email support@wooshbikes.co.uk

What's that thing in the photo with a circlip in it, then? It looks an awful lot like this to me:

Yes, it's a QR 12 mm through axle bolt for Suntour forks
