General Motors launch ARIV electric bikes

The “Meld” and “Merge” electric bikes are to be rolled out in Europe shortly under GM’s new electric bike brand, ARIV.

The compact Meld and the folding Merge will launch into Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands first – where GM hope the well-established popularity of assisted cycling will provide an early boost for their ARIV models.

The ARIV Meld will retail for €2,800 and the Merge €3,400 in Belgium and the Netherlands, while German buyers get a €50 discount. The e-bikes are scheduled to begin shipping in Q2 of 2019.

The ARĪV Merge folds easily, allowing customers to conveniently roll the bike on its two wheels while folded.
