November 26, 200718 yr what are sub C cells like? I have found packs that put out around 30 amps, 12v, 3.7ah, and I want to get 15 of them to make an 18.4ah 10kg battery, to put on a back rack. will it be possible to find a suitable charger? would it be worth it?
November 26, 200718 yr Sub C size cells seem to be fairly common nowadays, particularly in packs for cordless drills. I have successfully recelled several of those. That experience with cordless drills though does demonstrate that there is an enormous range in the quality of cells on the market. A battery pack from a top range make aimed at professional users costs more than a cheap drill and battery combined, and its not all down branding and image. There are plenty of NiCd and NiMH chargers about, working on various principles. Nick
November 27, 200718 yr Author Say I get 150 cells in 10 cell packs, should I just ask the guy to weigh some of the same weight and send them over? what's the best option for a charger and embedding the thermostat thingy?
