Very difficultto snswer your question when you don't give enough info. What is that you've shown? What are you trying to achieve? Does anybody know what sn andrewelectricbike.... is? I don't.

He is looking for a momentary switch to short out the PAS wires on a Giant ebike to give max boost power to the motor:

In his post andrewelectricbike1 stated that a switch or throttle could be wired to the two wires coming from the crank for pedal assist and run to the handle bars for instant power, bypassing the peddle assist on the Giant Suede e .

A momentary switch would be a lot easier, as only two wires. It also returns to off when you let go. That throttle might work, but its probably a hall effect sensor, so would require 0v, 5v and possibly even a relay.

Most PAS send pulses to the controller, so a switch wouldn't work.

 

Assuming that the Giant PAS works differently to send a variable signal to the controller, you should be able to connect any throttle to work like a throttle instead of on/off. You need to check how many wires go to the pas sensor, check the voltage because some are 12v supply, and check what happens on the signal wire to the controller. If you have 5v supply and variable 1v to 4v on the signal wire, you're home and dry.

I took robdons quote from andrewelectricbike1 about the switch at face value, and did no thinking whatsoever! Now I've had a breif think, of course it won't work like that. If it did, then if you stopped peddling with the magnet ring in the right place, then the bike would carry on (presumably until the brake cutouts stopped it).

 

Assuming that it is a pulse input to the controller, and that no other input is available then you could use a 555 timer to generate the pulses, and feed that signal in via a switch.

If its two wire, then chances are it's simply a pulse.

The Giant Suede in the UK is Pedlec only. The sensor wires coming off the crank sensor can be shorted by a throttle or push button on the handlebar.

 

Intercept and tee into the two wires coming from the pedal sensor. Don`t cut them- just tee into them. Run the tee wires up to your handlebars and install a switch that closes on push

Have you checked that your bike has two wires?

Then, to answere your original question, no, you can't use your thumb throttle.
