February 10, 201412 yr Hi I have a very old rear wheel drive single speed sensor model. I wish to know how to disable the mototion sensor on it as the new one I put on has a problem or I am the problem The sensor is the 3 wire type and sits in the back wheel as I cant be bothered ordering one as its prob worth more than bike. The bike started fine then went to hunt type mode and if the sensor was twiddled about it was either working or intermitent then I noticed bare wires on the plugs and I am not dextrious enough to fiddle with them with a knackered back and flu and bad eyes. February 10, 201412 yr Hi fatts, Is your machine a Euro with 26" wheels or are you possibly referring to a Shopper, which, according to my limited knowledge, may apparently have either 24" or 26" wheels? If it is a Shopper, Powabyke sell, (or used to sell), a disabler device that would plug into the circuit board once the sensor cable was removed from it. Part code PTDISABLE. I presume such a component would address your query. Other folk might be able to assist you with other, (safe, clever or ingenious), ways of addressing your problem. If you get back with details of your machine, I, (or others here), will post links to Powabyke Trouble Shooting and Powabyke Self Diagnostics manuals ... unless you already have access or links to them.
February 10, 201412 yr Sorry. Should have read your post more attentively. I assume a single speed machine is not going to be a Euro ... so is likely to be a shopper or some other model. Right? February 10, 201412 yr Author Thank you for that I was just going to join the appropriate wire together so that it did away with it but have not got my notes on the 3 colours which one you join together use to do it lots but many moons ago
