July 20, 201411 yr Where are you, Laura? To fix it you need to dismantle the controller compartment in the battery holder. Then, you need to start measuring with a voltmeter. If you can do that, expose the controller and asker again, and I'll explain how to check it, otherwise you need a competent repair person. Just in case it's the battery, you should charge it up and measure the voltage on the terminals with a voltmeter first.

My Compy did that once and it turned out to be the three pin power plug at the rear offside of the battery not fully pushed in. It never happened again. If your problem is not so simple you could ring Phil at Powerpedals. He is always very helpful. Best wishes.
