Replacement stainless steel spokes

Featured Replies

Has anyone replaced the rear wheel spokes with stainless steel ones on a Pro rider E Tourer I have 3 broken ones so my thinking is perhaps have them replaced with stainless steel ones hoping they would be stronger.

Are they not already stainless steel? Most are. Non-stainless steel ones are less likely to break because they don't suffer from metal fatigue.

Nobody seems to have bottomed out why spokes break. It's not as simple as stronger spokes break less. My advice would be to replace the spokes with 14g ones that you can get from Ebay. 14g are probably thinner than what you have. Use a 2-coss pattern.

Thank you for your advice I will do as you have advised.
