Variable geared hub motor

Featured Replies

Just noticed this one:

" A small startup call Acurrent International showed an interesting hub motor with a three-speed planetary gearing system built into the assembly. They do not have a website yet, but they are about to change their name to “Planetary Enterprises,” so keep your eyes out for them to hit the scene full force soon. In the meantime, you can contact them by e-mailing hjang012@gmail.com."

I'd love a bike with variable gearing. Always got my eye on a second hand lafree's but they only seem to go for megamoney.

As with most technology, I think this highly valued Lafree Twist phase will pass with time and some more reasonable prices will appear. Since many do very low mileages as shoppers and the like, there should be good examples around for some while.
