Hybrid Tyres, Will Slicks Make A Difference

I'm currently either buying an e bike or converting my Subway. In the meantime, the Subway has semi slick stock Kenda tyres. I'm thinking of changing them to slicks to reduce rolling resistence. Will this help me with the hills, as less resistence would mean less energy required, and subsequently will it improve battery range on an e bike?

I would say it makes a difference but will know better when I swap em back

I forgot to add, I'll be reducing the tyre width from 26 x 1.95 to 26 x 1.50.
Going from a 26 x 2.10 MTB @65psi tyre to a 26 x 1.5 @85 psi Schwalbe City Jet on a push bike increased my speed and reduced my effort dramatically. A regular journey that took me 40 minutes, then took 30 minutes. You should see better performance on an ebike going to a smaller, higher pressure tyre as well.

Not got an ebike yet, but plan to soon, as for my regular bike, I have been running Continental Sport Contact 2, great tyre 26" X 1.6" which were on Halfords clearance last year at £1 each!

 

Anyway time for a change now and have ordered a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus (Road Tread) 26" x 1.5" puncture protection looks awesome, so thought I would give them a go.

 

Before I got the Conti's I was running Verdestien S-Licks 26" x 1.3" with Kevlar strip inserted, never got a puncture in over 5 years, so I guess the Kevlar strip worked, but as I am now riding more trail than road, a larger profile tyre was required, with more puncture protection.

I recently changed from Schwalbe city jets running at 70 psi to big Apple 2.15s running at 35 psi and don't really notice any difference in the rolling resistance but there's a big difference in the quality of the ride, much more comfy.
Schwalbe Kojaks in 700 x 35 at 80psi are the fastest and in kevlar bead the lightest and very durable.
