Hub motor, move rear to front?

Hi, I have an ageing pedelec in need of an old style brushed motor. Since these are hard to come by I am looking at hand items on eBay. Can I buy a hub motor designed for a rear whee, take it off, and put it on the front wheel ?

    No. Rear motors are typically made to fit inside 135mm dropout, front motors 100mm dropout.
