I have bought two bikes, one for me one for wife. Excellent bikes but with an Achilles Heal ! When folded for transport the electric pick up prongs are exposed and so easily slightly bend the result is a dead bike because they fail to engage with battery and cause real trouble.

Seems like a matter of not fit for purpose.

The contacts were exposed on my Seago E-power when folded too and will apply to all folders with an internal battery. I just ensured the battery contacts were protected, if only by wedging a piece of sponge over them if vulnerable in transit and never had any problems in +5 years of regular use. It's just a case of being careful and not banging the frame, or any other vulnerable parts, down onto hard ground just as you wouldn't deliberately tug on cables.
