June 16, 20205 yr Hi all My initial budget was 1000 but after looking around, I realised if I could increase my budget i'd have a lot more choice, so I worked so much over time that my budget is now around £1900. I've worked crazy hard hours to afford this so I want to make sure I get it right. I love cycling but what puts me off is the hills! I think I have settled on a Cube ebike as so many people have advised this brand and I do like the look of them. I don't know alot about bikes but I am trying to learn during this process. I don't really ride anywhere that would require a full on mountain bike. It's mostly cycle lanes, light tracks, promenades etc. I think I deffo want a hybrid, my current normal bike is hybrid. I have been looking at a few: (cube-2020 nature hybrid one 500) https://www.primera-sports.com/product/cube-2020-nature-hybrid-one-500-electric-bike/ (cube 2020 touring hybrid one 500) https://www.primera-sports.com/product/cube-2020-touring-hybrid-one-500-electric-bike/ (cube 2020 town hybrid one 500) https://www.primera-sports.com/product/cube-2020-town-hybrid-one-500-electric-bike/ Any advice would really help me! Thank you so much Edited June 16, 20205 yr by Charlotte
June 16, 20205 yr Hi Charlotte- welcome I can't help much with the choice but I can lend a word of pragmatism. It might be less a case of "which one to buy" and more a case of "which ones are available". Very much a sellers market at the moment due to huge demand during lockdown...

I am off down the LBS in a couple of days to see what they have in - I just wanted to do a bit of home work so i'm not put on the spot and make the wrong choice as apart from my mortgage - might be the second most expensive thing I own lol

All our shipments arriving in August are practically pre-sold. We are reserving bikes for September delivery.

June 16, 20205 yr might be the second most expensive thing I own lol Yes, they can definitely be spendy. With that in mind, you could wait a few months. Many of these lockdown impulse purchases will be on ebay come winter time, and then it'll be a buyers market...
June 16, 20205 yr Hi Charlotte, You can have a Rio MTB next week if you like. It's substantially cheaper than the Cubes too. https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?rio-mtb
June 16, 20205 yr Author Lets pretend I walked into a shop and all the cubes were available, which should I get ?
June 16, 20205 yr that depends on your weight, height, how hilly it is where you live, the style of frame you like and whether your budget is an issue or not. Strictly on value for money, I'd go for this one: https://www.primera-sports.com/product/cube-2020-town-hybrid-one-500-electric-bike/
June 16, 20205 yr Lets pretend I walked into a shop and all the cubes were available, which should I get ? As well as the factors already mentioned, looking at the 3 bikes you have picked, they vary on whether or not they have: 1) Mudguards 2) Rack 3) Integrated battery 4) Choice of colours 5) Straight or comfort handlebars 6) Control display unit Most of these are a question of taste/what you want to use the bike for. Most of them can be changed after purchase, at varying degrees of cost and effort. Ask yourself which things are important tou you, and that should guide your choice. I think they all had 500 batteries, so range should be similar on all of them. (Also, and I may get flamed for this, but to me it is important how bikes look. When I buy a bike I want to fall in love with it, and looks are a significant factor in that). The availability thing is a real issue right now though. I ordered my new bike In February, and it came last week. My LBS guy said I was lucky to get it - he reckons he wont be able to get many more bikes for months. Good luck Cheers, John

Thank you so much Hi Charlotte Welcome to the forum. I recently got my new Cube Town hybrid SL 500 and I can honestly say I love it but I had test rides of so many bikes before deciding. Even the three bikes you have suggested will feel very different to ride so don't rush your decision. Keep in mind that previous year's models can offer great savings too, mine was 2019 and reduced by £880. Good luck
