Is it the 26v Panasonic motor or the Daum impulse motor? I think the impulse motor replaced the Panasonic sometime in 2011/2012.
July 24, 20205 yr Sorry - should have said that it's the Panasonic motor. I can’t find a figure for the Panasonic quoted anywhere. The impulse 1 was rated 40NM and was more powerful than the Panasonic. I really liked the Panasonic motor I once had on a old Raleigh Dover but it was noticeably less powerful than the original impulse motor that replaced it on Kalkhoff stable bikes. Of course, the impulse motors had other problems! I would think all current motors will be more powerful, even the light assist motors like Fazua.
July 24, 20205 yr Author I can’t find a figure for the Panasonic quoted anywhere ... Me neither But whatever, I agree with you that it's probably safe to assume that it's less than the 50Nm quoted for the Gazelle which is currently numero uno on the list of potential purchases.

Definitely, the second series Panasonic unit is the least powerful of all the mainstream mid drives in this last decade. .
