Build review 1500w rear hub

Featured Replies

Ebike newbie here. I decided to go for a conversion kit as I'm sick of my commute to work everyday. I bought a brand new cube aim pro 2021 and a 1500w rear hub motor with a 48v battery. I've never even changed a tyre before now so I'm completely new to anything remotely mechanical. I'm more tech savvy than anything so this was a major step for me. It turned out to be really simple and the only real issue I faced was the rear brake caliper rubbing on the hub motor. I filed the caliper and dealt with the rubbing band away with went. I've now done nearly 100 miles and am completely blown away with it. Top speed 38.2 mph with a range of about 30miles ( 20 if I got full throttle everywhere) I would definitely recommend the conversion kits to anybody who wants that little more for that little less.

Good. Just in case you have regen, it's best not to use it because the force on the drop-outs is immense and you need serious strengthening to resist the force.

I'm not sure it's got regen ‍♂️

Cool and Eeek in equal amounts! At 38mph it's going to hurt when you hit the ground. Consider body armour, gloves and a full-face helmet if you don't have them already. And don't blow that runny nose...
