November 7, 20214 yr plod dont care been zooming round going 30mph since 2014 Did your mate get back the remains of his bike, after crashing into that barrier at 30+mph? What's the latest?
November 7, 20214 yr he did but the frame was cracked but only wanted the hub and controller anyway and no charges lol.
November 7, 20214 yr he did but the frame was cracked but only wanted the hub and controller anyway and no charges lol. WTF?!?! NO CHARGES?!?!? The plod must have thought he'd suffered enough? That can't be it - filling out paperwork might have been too difficult for them? Most coppers seem to be ex-squaddies, many of which are barely literate? (Apologies to ex-squaddies on this board, who may be the exception).
November 7, 20214 yr he did but the frame was cracked but only wanted the hub and controller anyway and no charges lol. Plus he's already snaffled the battery, ready for his next bike accident!
November 7, 20214 yr we have gangs of kids on scooters round here and cause chaos and plod dont care they even get there parents to hire the fkn things for them. why do you think i put hand guards on my bike
November 7, 20214 yr he did but the frame was cracked but only wanted the hub and controller anyway and no charges lol. It's mad that it's only his battery that's getting charged, wow. The plod really don't care. They certainly don't care about all the more dangerous illegal electric scooters on roads either, which I see everywhere.
November 7, 20214 yr we have gangs of kids on scooters round here and cause chaos and plod dont care they even get there parents to hire the fkn things for them. why do you think i put hand guards on my bike ...then all you need to worry about is your spine - get this and tell everyone you're Batman at intersections: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorcycle-Motorbike-Motocross-Protection-Protective/dp/B09HNYN2X9/ref=

November 7, 20214 yr What hasn't moved on and will not, is that anything motorised above 25 kph (15.5mph) has to be registered as a motor vehicle. I've explained this repeatedly, including in this thread. You can have what you want right now, but you'll have to register it, fit a number plate, have insurance and have the appropriate driving licence. You cannot avoid that when everyone else has to do it and it's why this petition is a waste of effort since it cannot happen. Information link to page one . I know - we've been here before haven't we? I know - it's not going to happen. I'm simply putting forward an alternative view from a cyclist. I can't have what I want right now - I'm not going to buy an electric motor bike, with all that entails. I'm not going to buy an ugly 25+ kg electric moped. I wouldn't be riding an ebike if the road version wasn't available. I wouldn't be riding an e-road bike if I was still in good health.
November 7, 20214 yr I wouldn't be riding an e-road bike if I was still in good health. ebikes are terrible for fitness - at least that's been my experience, I was much fitter as a slow jogger, but that's my own fault for using too high electrical assistance (to reduce knee pain) and ceasing slow jogging (which reduces knee pain), which I've restarted. Otherwise my manner of use of this ebike, will allow my fitness to further decline... Edited November 7, 20214 yr by guerney
November 7, 20214 yr all i eat is crap and i dont get fat lol but with my bike you have to spin the cranks at 120rpm to get full power and use clipless peddles.
November 7, 20214 yr all i eat is crap and i dont get fat lol Nobody would get fat, if they only ate very small amounts of crap. with my bike you have to spin the cranks at 120rpm to get full power That's frantic! use clipless peddles So if you'd had the same accident as your mate, you'd be on the other side of the barrier, looking at your feet left torn off on the bike?
November 7, 20214 yr https://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/news/gloucester-news/e-scooter-trial-gloucestershire-extended-6168448 Glosguy19 MIN AGO Police seem to have no interest from what I've seen! Recently at Longlevens School as pupils left at the end of the day. Police Officer there to check for dangerous parking I presume, which is good. However, a PRIVATE electric scooter with a "hoody" on board hurtles down the middle of the road in full view of the officer who must have seen him, but he did absolutely nothing
November 7, 20214 yr So if you'd had the same accident as your mate, you'd be looking at your feet left torn off on the bike? i have a 8000lm light but most down hill racers use clipless peddles. https://www.crankbrothers.com/products/doubleshot-3

Are they called wipeouts? I'm trying to sound cool and "With it".
November 7, 20214 yr you either like them or you dont, i have only fell over once as forgot had them on at a complete stop.
November 7, 20214 yr you either like them or you dont, i have only fell over once as forgot had them on at a complete stop. As a road cyclist, I sometimes wish my feet would stay on pedals while going over potholes, but can't stand pedal clips - even when I had a racer... too tricky when stopping at intersections, and I hate the thought of being entangled with the bike in an accident: That's one way to lose a leg, depending on what runs over it while your leg stuck under the frame...
November 7, 20214 yr I use these - gripper than the ones I had before, and very well made by Japanese out of work former Samurai sword makers, or something: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Unisexs-FD-7-Folding-Pedals-Metallic/dp/B004ALNICM/ref=
November 7, 20214 yr the main reason i use them is to help lift the bike off the ground so i can throw it around better on flat bumpy trails going 30mph down the canal. it is just a sprig loaded clamp and will unclip in a crash or you feet will just come out the shoe anyway. with spd ones you can adjust them but if its to tight you wont be able to unclip. i think there are only 2-3 of us on here that use clipless
November 7, 20214 yr I used to use the toe-clip type on my old racer, but without the straps, so that I could slide my feet out sideways when stopping. That worked well for potholes. Might do that again, but so far those MKS pedals have been bearable.
November 8, 20214 yr I used toeclips, straps and nail on cleats from around 1960 until the clip-in ('clip-less') system was generally available in the early 90's. Look Keo 3 bolt cleats in the summer and SPD 2 bolt in the winter. Systems of attaching shoes to pedals have been around since the earliest days of cycling. No big deal.
