And it was Rob Barber, riding the Team Agni machine, who will go into the record books and TT folklore as the first winner. 'Absolutely fantastic,' was his reaction at the finish line of the ground-breaking event, after completing the one-lap race in 25 minutes 53.5 seconds, an average speed of 87.434mph. June 12, 200916 yr I don't quite understand why they make them look like road bikes, it's not the most efficient design and with no homologation to worry about makes little sense. Is there something else to it?

They took a well established motorcycle and more or less just converted the power system to electric. I can see how it makes sense to concentrate the effort on the electrics, and just use the standard solution for the bike part. Well done, them. Its all pretty amazing and good news and publicity for electric vehicles. I think, though, I shall be sticking to the "under 40 kg" class for a while. Nick Edited June 12, 200916 yr by Tiberius

NickMinimum weight is 100kg, you need to eat some more pies. I don't quite understand why they make them look like road bikes, it's not the most efficient design and with no homologation to worry about makes little sense. Is there something else to it? I found the styling rules and although feet forward designs are permitted the streamlining rules are quite restrictive and prevent innovative designs.
June 14, 200916 yr The TTXGP was shown on ITV4 as part of their excellent TT coverage. I had it recorded and watched it last night. For those who missed it you can see it here TTXGP - The Worlds First Zero Carbon, Clean Emission Grand Prix Look out for Cedric, "He's the man"! It looked great fun, but no noise and no aroma of Castrol R. Nostalgia ain't what it used to be! Last time I rode the TT circuit I was in my teens, managed to melt a spark plug and sieze my 250cc Yamaha going up the mountain from Ramsey. The back wheel locked at about 75 mph:eek: I pulled in the clutch and came to a rapid stop. I let the bike cool for a couple of minutes, removed the offending plug and limped back to Douglas on one cylinder:o Happy days:D J:) hn
