May 12, 2025May 12 All this puts me in mind of the research done by the tobacco companies who could prove that smoking isnt bad for your health. One thing I like to do is find their 'motivation', which in 99% of the cases of denial is down to a book they have on the subject, or a 'media' channel, all of which brings them in a rather tidy income.
May 12, 2025May 12 Is there a "peer reviewed paper" on how Toxic broken solar flaps are, just asking? Do you know how muck selenium, arsenic, lead, cadmium there is in a modern solar panel? Tiny amount if any. The active film itself is only 0.2mm thick, the rest is to protect it against the elements. Solar panels last for 25 years, comparable to your car. Look into the future. Do you want your grandchildren to continue using electricity from burning fossil fuels?
May 12, 2025May 12 electric cars wont last 25 years solar panels are non recyclable same as carbon fibre wind blades. inverters have a 5 year warranty and will need replacing as the capacitors will be dead. also round here no one cleans there solar panels so loose 1% every year. the feed in tariff ended in 2019 you are now only paid for what you export. last 30 days i exported 2.3kw it will never pay for its self under the export tariff ill keep burning rubbish like the power station up the road
May 12, 2025May 12 A Tour de France race bike typically lasts for only one or two seasons due to the intense demands of professional cycling. The bikes are subjected to rigorous use, including significant wear and tear from various terrains, impacts, and the rigors of racing, leading to a relatively short lifespan compared to recreational bikes. so a 20k throw away item its renewable tho

Also, the problem with heavy metals is that once they get in the human body, they're difficult to get out, so they accumulate, and it's the accumulated amount that does you in.

Same issue when the time comes to disposal of your car. Compare with the amount of poisonous substances that your car is responsible for in its life, solar panels give fewer problems.

But after the tour is finished, the bikes are sold to members of the public, so they do go on and have a life afterwards.
May 12, 2025May 12 carbon flexes and brakes there made so light most are wall hangers same as f1 car parts and planes they have a service life. most are factory bikes so they rather chop them up and throw them away
May 12, 2025May 12 Same issue when the time comes to disposal of your car. Compare with the amount of poisonous substances that your car is responsible for in its life, solar panels give fewer problems. Your car gets disposed of at the scrap yard and solar panels go to the recycling centre. Both are relatively safe, but when a storm smashes acres of solar panels into smithereens, all the chemicals leech into the soil, then into rivers and so on. The field becomes full of broken glass, which is not going to be too good for growing potatos and other root crops. How will they get all the broken glass out of the fields? When those chemicals get into the soil, what will they do to any grazing animals and their prospects for human consumption? If they grow edible crops in the contaminated land, will they become full of toxins?
May 12, 2025May 12 they put solar farms on green belt as after 10 years it will becomes a housing estate

Most of the materials used are impervious to water anyway (glass, aluminium, plastic, rubber, electric cables etc). Nothing soluble comes to mind. I think you exaggerate the amount of harmful substances in modern solar panels. Lots of them have ROHS declarations. There are comparatively tons more in building materials that people live next to. May 12, 2025May 12 all the chemicals leech into the soil, then into rivers You are going to freak when you hear what goes into our rivers normally. From raw sewage, to industrial run off, to a build up of the chemicals farmers use
May 12, 2025May 12 Author electric cars wont last 25 years Of course they will, and much, much longer. EV's are potentially much longer lived than any IC vehicles, so long as their batteries get replaced from time to time. Usually around 5 to 8 years with current batteries, but that is getting better all the time. In the late 1960s both Harrods and John Lewis were still using their early 1920s battery electric vans delivering to customers in London. Easily 40 years life, and only getting changed since their 20mph was too slow for traffic then, causing hold ups. They should have thought again, with whole borough 20 limit zones now returning here. . Edited May 12, 2025May 12 by flecc

No water can get in, normally, but those ones on the solar farm were all smashed up, which is what they do in the recycling centre to get the chemicals out. Didn't you see them? One lot had been bombarded by giant hailstones that smashed every panel, and the others were picked up and smashed into each other by the hurricane/tornado, leaving just a pile of tangled metal and glass shards.
May 12, 2025May 12 electric cars run software connected to servers to work no server no car planned obsolescence like my bike as new smart batts will not work on older motors. shitmano wont even sell you a motor out of warranty because you throw it in to the bin and buy a new one every 2 years:D
May 13, 2025May 13 they dont even have the code to reset the batts bms and it still dont work said to buy a new batt for 40k Edited May 13, 2025May 13 by soundwave
May 13, 2025May 13 but those ones on the solar farm were all smashed up Yeah and its likely the only pic of them damaged you'll ever see, as its just a bit of anti-renewable propaganda uploaded over and over and over. You'll never get them uploading pics of China's 3 gorges solar farm. Just keep convincing the Western plebs they're better paying through the nose for gas and oil produced electricity.

You have the same for high performance cars, no matter which fuel they use. On balance, would you rather stop all the software updates?

So that being the point, what exactly is their point ? Are we to stop building houses in case some occasional and random storm comes along and might take the roof off
May 13, 2025May 13 Oh thats from storm damage, hurricanes etc. Not surprising really, as big storms rip homes apart. So that being the point, what exactly is their point ? Are we to stop building houses in case some occasional and random storm comes along and might take the roof off The point is that when a storm damages a house, somebody has to pay for repairs, but when a storm smashes up a field of solar panels, there is nothing you can do to get the glass out of the grass, nor the very poisonous chemicals out of the ground. It renders the fields useless and risks poisoning water creatures and anything else when the chemicals leech into the water course.
