Recommendations for bike 'phone holder

Featured Replies

I have been using an Olixar holder for a while, yesterday I went over a bump and it fella part, sending my 'phone skidding across the road. Screen damaged. The holder was never really stable, it wobbled all over the place and was a bit ungainly to use.

My handlebars are the small diameter type so it needed a lot of padding inserts to hold it firmly.

Has anyone any recommendations for a really stable holder that works well?

Cheers Tony.

When I was looking recently, the 'quality brand name' that came up a lot is QuadLock, but bespoke cases are limited to Samsung, iPhone and not much else.

Also ebay flooded with so much generic 'for quadlock' stuff I got lost and gave up. Phone is too important on my long trips to risk.

If your Olixar is the 'two sides and a bottom' style, then I suspect any of the 'all four sides clipped in' styles would be as good or better.

I was after something that mounted the phone without adding an extra layer over the screen, but nothing gave me the confidence to try.

I may look again either when I'm forced to go Samsung to get a modern, maximum brightness screen for outdoor sunny day usability, or someone shows me what I did not find!

Touch sensitivity works on my phone holder, just. Not as sensitive. Would be even less sensitive with the phone enclosed in a proper waterproof pouch. But it does keep the phone on the bike, and provides cushioning, resists light showers. There's also a foam placeholder under the phone which can be replaced with a slim power bank.
