Hello, my name is Humberto i'm from Chile, i hope you are all having a great day.

I converted my Trek Marling 5 with a BBS02 750w so i can start commuting to work by bike, i'm tired of cars and driving. Plus i need the workout.

I'm looking for ways to succesfully transition into this new live style, without falling.

Hello Humberto. I hope you get great service and pleasure from riding your Bafang conversion. I have a BBS01 bike. The only problem I ever had was from the cranks starting to make a creaking sound. It was just that the large nut which pulls the Bafang unit hard into the frame had worked a little bit loose. I just tightened it up again HARD and it went away and has not come back since.

In the UK we can't legally ride the BBS02 as a bicycle. Legally, that power must be treated like a moped, with number plates, insurance and a lot of nonsense. Enjoy your bike and the exercise.

I fell this too, do you mean this nut right? The big silver one? I think i should buy a rubber hammer, to fix it into the frame.

Thank you for the advice!

Yes - the big one on the right that is made of steel.

I am ashamed to tell you, that I used a blunt cold chisel on the slot and a big hammer to move it another quarter turn to make it tight. I had a 'C' spanner which tightened it most of the way, then I put the blunt chisel into a slot and hammered it another quarter turn. You can get a proper tool for tightening it, but being a fundamentally bad engineer (not an engineer at all) I used the dirty method.

As I am sure you know, the outer threaded rig is aluminium and is just a locking ring.
