exceptional service from onbike

Featured Replies

when somebody does something really out of the ordinary I think it should be recognised . Onbike who supplied my wife's Ezee chopper ( see previous postings on a suitable bike for a five foot woman) were so helpful yesterday when we called in yesterday en route from France to Aberdeen via Kidderminster ( their HQ) . As we waited they ( Andy and Phil ) gave us a cup of tea and changed the wiring to allow throttle rather than pedal control . The thing now goes like s*** off a shovel!! It has proved a great little bike but the two second delay in accessing power has made it hard to control at busy junctions especially those on hills . Incidentally we were amazed by the range and quality of surfaces on German bike tracks .It made using the bikes ( mine is a Wisper city ) an an absolute delight . Some of the surfaces in Aberdeen are bad enough to cause serious injury - and the state of our roads is laughable . It has been calculated that at the current rate it will take 300 years to resurface Aberdeens roads !!

After the tweak my wife will hopefully be able to keep up with me !

Top Speed

Could you please tell me what the speed the Ezee Chopper will assist to now? I have been thinking of buying a bike for my wife and the Chopper sounds just right. Have you got the dual battery option fitted and does this increase the power or range? Can the second battery be fitted at a later date?

Thanks

John

It's 12.5 to 13 mph John, dependng on charge state. The reason for the slower speed is that it's basically a Sprint model with changes to a smaller frame and 20" wheels in lieu of the usual 26" wheels on the Sprint.

This lower motor gearing does make it an exceptional climber though.

The dual battery option can be added later. It does slightly help power due to the lower resistance of a larger capacity, but the main gain is to the range.

ezee chopper

between you me and the gatepost it is possible to deregulate the chopper by a simple 2 minute operation . This will allow it to go up to 17 mph but its not legal .Its between you and your conscience !!

Only the current models using the eZee motor? Most Choppers on the road have used the old Sprint motor and controller.

17 mph isn't illegal and would be impossible to prosecute. 10% variation is allowed on the legal 15.5 mph, resulting in 17.05 mph.
