Good for you! I think this is an excellent value bike. I am now up to 800 km. Only down side. 2 punctures, both in the awkward rear wheel so I am switching to more robust tyres. Also have had the battery cut out issue twice But that's 13 commutes to work that I would have done in the car...

Very true - I had the bike for a 2 hour test ride, but as we kept to an official bike route around our town our speed probably never got high enough. It was only when I hit the open road that I noticed it. Anyway - it's not the end of the world - just wanted to be sure it wasn't an actual fault...

Thanks for the feedback - at least I know it appears to be a feature rather than a fault. I'll just push on to 30 kph and use the motor on the hilly bits. At least on the way to work. On the way home I'll probably go for the keep the speed lower option!

Our cycletoscheme web site is saying I would say about £300 if I bought a bike for £800, and £418 on a £1000 bike, so it seems to be more than just the VAT I save.

Oh dear - it appears that Halfords aren't in the cycletowork scheme that my company operates. I might still be better off buying a more expensive bike elsewhere and saving the tax
