    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

My bike had the cut out problem - about 7 times in 1100km so quite rare. Halfords eventually sent it away to a 3rd party for repair. I am going to pick it up tonight. My wife had the same problem on hers and a colleague at work also. So 3 out of 3. I'll be interested to hear if they actually...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

I have had this happen to me twice this week. Before that just once several weeks ago. I will report to Halfords at 6 week service but I have also emailed their customer service desk to get it on the record. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Easy to ride

Hi Can I suggest you look at the Carrera Crossfire at Halfords. They are currently £999 but you can get 10% off with a British Cycling Membership, so you can save about £70-80 of that figure, plus you get 10% of anything you buy at Halfords...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

OK - this is getting silly - day three cycling to work this week and puncture number three. Yesterday was glass and today was a thorn with a mystery guest on Monday. Those new tyres can't get here fast enough. I have changed my order to 35c land cruisers. Oh and I got stung by a wasp cycling...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Interesting. I assume that is on the ebike crossfire? I have ordered 40c tyres as I thought 35s might be too narrow for the rim or not wide enough to take the extra weight of the motor. I assume they are working well I might change my order D Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Good for you! I think this is an excellent value bike. I am now up to 800 km. Only down side. 2 punctures, both in the awkward rear wheel so I am switching to more robust tyres. Also have had the battery cut out issue twice But that's 13 commutes to work that I would have done in the car...

    Hi From the Fylde Coast

I'll look out for you on the road. My wife and I have the carerra's as does a chap from work. So that's at least four of us in the Fylde. We are going to try the cafe at the top of Beacon Fell next. See how the bike copes with that Hill. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tapatalk

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Thought I'd provide a quick update. I've had the Carrera for 3 weeks now and have covered 450km. I'm very happy with the bike (especially at a cost of £700). The 'tugging' is a little frustrating, but I have learned to adjust my riding style accordingly. The 16 mile route to work now takes about...

    Thoughts on Carrera Crossfire-E

Hi. Well in two weeks I've had this happen to me 3 times. My colleague at work had it happen to him once already and he has only had the bike a couple of days. We will both be reporting this to our own local Halfords. It will be interesting to see if they also deny any knowledge of other...

    Halford's Carrera Tugging?

Good point. All I would actually need is it increasing from 15.5 to 17.5mph. I am sure there are many who would disagree on that point, but I'm already travelling at that speed under my own steam. Not sure I want to void my warranty just yet though Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk

    Halford's Carrera Tugging?

Very true - I had the bike for a 2 hour test ride, but as we kept to an official bike route around our town our speed probably never got high enough. It was only when I hit the open road that I noticed it. Anyway - it's not the end of the world - just wanted to be sure it wasn't an actual fault...

    Halford's Carrera Tugging?

Thanks for the feedback - at least I know it appears to be a feature rather than a fault. I'll just push on to 30 kph and use the motor on the hilly bits. At least on the way to work. On the way home I'll probably go for the keep the speed lower option!

    Halford's Carrera Tugging?

Hi All I mentioned this point in another thread, but it was buried among a lot of other words, so I thought I'd give it it's own thread to see if any of the experts can help out. So I now have the Halfords Carrera e-bike and have ridden about 90 miles so far this week. Everything seems great...

    Carrera Crossfire-E Video Review

Hi Did you ever make any progress on changing the wheelsize? I have managed to find a combination of keys that bring up the wheelsize (it says "28 CABE") but no ability to then alter it. I am going to have another play though

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Quick update. Return trip to work. Probably 35 miles. Used two bars. One there and one back. Includes some long hills so good going. Reckon I've enough juice to get back in the morning and then recharge battery at work. BAD NEWS. Bike just shut down whilst riding home on the flat with no...

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Two bikes bought today! A small and medium frame size for me and the taller wife. My only concern from our test drive is that at certain speeds the motor seemed to be sometimes "tugging" me backwards, almost as if it was adding resistance rather than removing it. I think this was simply an...

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Well I've ordered 2 bikes, one for me and one for the wife. Pick them up on Sunday for a 2 hour trial ride. If we don't like them we don't need to keep them. Chap in the shop confirmed that extra 10% for British Cycling should be available. One observation. The sample Men's bike they had in the...

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Enjoy the refund - if I have helped somebody collect some beer vouchers, that can only be a good thing. Off to Halfords at 16:00 as soon as I can sneak out of the office

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Our cycletoscheme web site is saying I would say about £300 if I bought a bike for £800, and £418 on a £1000 bike, so it seems to be more than just the VAT I save.

Halfords Carrera e-Bike now only £799.99

Oh dear - it appears that Halfords aren't in the cycletowork scheme that my company operates. I might still be better off buying a more expensive bike elsewhere and saving the tax
