Yes it does spin the drive wheel on soft ground if I give it to much juice on take off. A job for the future is to make a differential so both rear wheels can be driven and also fit outboard disc brakes on both wheels.

One word of caution if replacing the hub motor. I have a UM20 and the rear dropouts are 165mm wide. Check the width of yours before buying a replacement motor as most are 135 or 145mm wide.
