bike stolen - please let me know if you notice anything...

My bike was stolen on Thursday 22nd from outside my home (Bedlington, Northumberland) and I'd appreciate it if anyone sees/ is offered it that they contact the police. It's a silver (with some blue) Powabyke X-bike Mk1 6 speed step through. It has a Crystalyte front motor (so it's big), racks...

The Crown / TC motor spokes?

Can anyone tell me of spoke suppliers for the the Crystalyte Crown / TC motor bought to length? I haven't found anywhere that supplies for 28" wheels, Crystalyte only have 26" and smaller.

    centre stand

I'm debating biting that same bullet. It looks like it should be perfect for the job.

    centre stand

I found a supplier of the stand with the threaded/nut arrangement on ebay but at £35 (£20 carriage) it makes the one shown by averhamdave look like a real bargain!

    centre stand

That's why I quickly rejected the Pletscher stands. I wonder why British dealers don't (won't) source the stands which are thread/locknut adjustable. They'd fit most bikes and not need any cutting. American dealers +1 British dealers -1

    centre stand

Now that looks a bit more promising, thanks! And fairly similar heights too. Do you mind getting a few dimensions for me please? What is the height from the ground to the top of the stand where it fits against the bike? How much leg is 'choppable'? What is the distance between the two feet at...

    centre stand

except in this case that does look a lot like the stand I got from amazon. It only looked like that for 2 days until the legs bent.

    centre stand

The shape stops this from being a possibility, it's where the legs are at a fairly sharp angle going outwards. Rubber feet that fit onto that short bit have the legs coming out of the sides.

    centre stand

Thanks guys. The ebay Acor one is like the original one so would be a 'if I can't find something better', and the feet are fairly close together. Something with the legs further apart for stability would be better- I remember the bike falling over with the original one when it got windy...

    centre stand

Can anyone tell me of a uk supplier for a centrestand with locknut type adjustable leg lengths? I've found a few stateside but they don't ship here, even if they did it would probably be at a premium. And nothing over here

    Justebikes. Removal of thread.

I don't know why the thread couldn't just be locked from further posts, and a note from the moderator with a quick explanation of why it has been done. Continuity, openness, honesty- just 3 things that are missing from how it has been done. This way adds to rumours, looks dodgy, and makes...

    ecrazyman controler

Yeah, already been talking to the guys on E-S. I've got as far as getting a side cover off but I've got to try and get the rotor out from the magnets to get to the halls (already have Honeywells to change all 3). I just had a quick try but it's going to take a big push (10 inch diameter so the...

    Demo of locked bike theft

I use a ring lock that you can't lock without the key- Abus Amparo. It's attached to the frame so I can't forget it. You can also add a chain or cable to lock the bike to lamposts, bike racks etc.

    Why 15 mm?

easily found with a little looking around, but single spanners can seem expensive compared to sets. And there's always ebay- from under £2 to hundreds.....

    for e-bikers with flat batteries

Where's the gymnastic version of this 'skill'? It doesn't seem to be widely competed, but I do remember a game when I was a little kid where you crept up on someone while they turned away, but were out if seen moving when they turned round.

    ecrazyman controler

I've just had a hall sensor fail on my crystalyte motor. After checking the small 5 pin plug cable grip had never been tightened, it was under heatshrink so I never saw it was loose. It looks like a cable pulled loose and shorted out killing one hall sensor. My controller won't run sensorless...

    Spares and repairs?

I don't know because I'm from the North East- but did you look in the dealer directory on this site?

    Probably a dumb question

My duct tape battery had 100's of spot welds joints, some bad joints amongst them. Claimed as 20Ah it only ever gave 12Ah (despite stripping the thing and repairing the bad connections). I'd never get one again. The cells that make up my current battery are 40152's- 40mm diameter by 152mm long...

Would you ride an e-bike without mudguards

At the moment I fit into both camps on my bike- I have a front mudguard fitted but no back one. The front is far cleaner. (The reason far from a happy one unfortunately, not something I'd wish on anyone).
