Donald Trump referring to North Korea's leader as Rocket Man. Funniest thing I've heard for a while :)

Would fear not be a more reasonable emotion?. It is certainly higher on my list than funny.
Then you need to have another look at the list and use Conservative (Gove) maths on it one should always laugh in the face of Adversity.
After all if we blow ourselves off the face of the planet it will prove that evolution is capable of radical improvements occasionally!

A different kind of politics altogether is what we need. The elite are terrified that socialism takes hold of the people's imagination causing them to elect a Corbyn-led government with an agenda to return our former nationalised utilities and services to public ownership. You see, the elite care only for themselves, a very small percentage of the population of these islands and they have been raping this country for their personal wealth expansion since 1979.

Higher profits and dividends for their friends with fewer pay packets required to produce those profits each year - that's efficiency in the tory business world. It's the tory way! No-one else and nothing else matters in that world but it doesn't have to be like that.

The only time the UK has had a Labour government with more leftist than centrist politicians in the parliamentary party was that of Clement Attlee in 1945. In 6 years, they revolutionised the political landscape of this country and made it a far, far better place for the masses.

After a series of muddling administrations over the next quarter of a century, the tories won power again in 1979 and began their war on the commoners. That has endured for 38 years in the form of tory/tory-lite and a lib-dem/tory coalition.

In 1945, the tory press marked down Attlee as a left-wing extremist and said he was unelectable. That was really nothing less than sheer propaganda as Attlee had always had the improvement of the condition of the ordinary man at the heart of his political ideals.

Today, that same tory press, ignobly assisted by the BBC and Murdoch's Sky News TV, are regurgitating the same kind of dialogue against the current Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn. The problem we face in the not too distant future is that we will have lost our position of influence in the world, having already sold off most of our assets to foreign powers. We will have nothing with which to barter and as a trading nation, we will be at the mercy of all the other countries with whom we might do business.

Effectively, we will be like a country that has just lost a major war without a shot ever being fired. Wars, we know from previous experience, serve only to further enrich the already wealthy. The poor tend always to lose, even when they are on the winning side. I'm not sure that the current generation of young and youngish folk actually understand that.

By way of reminder just what a socialist government can achieve:

Just one thing I totally disagree with

Brexit can NEVER be a safe thing and JC would do well to stay clear of power till everyone understand that and wants it reversed, why volunteer to take the blame?

Otherwise he will win the battle
And lose the War, becoming just another discredited politician who stood in the middle of the road.

"We know what happens to people who stay in the middle of the road. They get run down."
Aneurin Bevan

Brexit is like the common cold...the only cure is time. otherwise you are applying Quack remedies that don't work to the symptoms and leaving the disease to get worse.

Patience... everything comes to those who wait....

They appear to be losing Faith in the Guardian
you meant the Telegraph?
brexit is brought about by the dreamers but has to be delivered by the remainer MPs. There lies the problem.

excellent piede in the online FT this morning:
https://www.ft.com/content/a6b1f948-9d8e-11e7-9a86-4d5a475ba4c5

"Revolutionaries invariably underestimate transition costs. Maybe if you have a blank slate, being out of the EU is better than being in it. But the calculation changes once you’ve been in the EU for 43 years. All your arrangements are then predicated on being in, and suddenly they become redundant. The cost of change is a classic conservative insight, though it’s been forgotten by the Conservative party.
Almost every system is more complex than it looks. Most people can’t describe the workings of a toilet, writes Steven Sloman, cognitive scientist at Brown University. The EU is even more complicated, and so leaving it has countless unforeseen ramifications. Most Britons had no idea last year that voting Leave could mean closing the Irish border, or giving ministers dictatorial powers to rewrite law. Because of complexity, so-called common sense is a bad guide to policy making. Complexity is also an argument against direct democracy."

It seems most people in the UK, (figures vary but every straw poll ever conducted has produced an overwhelming vote in favour of keeping the NHS rather than adopting the American system), wish to see our health service properly funded.

The tories see profit-making opportunities in healthcare and are intent on dismantling the NHS for purely profit-motivated reasons.

Let's just consider the 'American way' so take a look at this clip:

This is the full transcript of what Dr Peeno had to say.

http://www.cchfreedom.org/cchf.php/415

These events occurred in 1980s and 1990s America. Today, their system is even worse and Trump is further dragging their healthcare to new lows.

If you want to preserve and improve the NHS, vote Labour; the tories cannot be trusted on any matter....ever!

Cometh the moment cometh the man, for I among many millions not only know how a Toilet works but spent some time on testing and design of them.

Be it known that thus being uniquely qualified, I stand (legs akimbo) ready to leap in with the bent six inch nail in a wooden handle I once used to clear out blocked toilet rim punchings, ready to save our nation from hard Brexit.

I reckon that my bent nail in a handle , when applied with skill and determination to the appropriate orifices will absolutely guarantee to clear the way to flush Brexit down the pan.

Ready, Aye Ready!

Technical note:
Toilet rims have larger punched holes that normally don't give problems, but rinsing is handled by smaller punched holes done when the clay is wet,, and this process often leaves flash partially blocking the holes, affecting the flush,

A quick thrust and vigorous rotary and rocking motion of the bent nail gives a satisfying cracking and crunching noise the broken pottery shards flush out on the next operation and harmony is restored.

Perhaps a new and novel application for this advanced technology has appeared at last.
Ich Dien!

So, what does it matter if Rolls Royce cars are manufactured In Germany rather than in the UK?

How can one put a price on something something so iconic when it's considered next to regaining British sovereignty and being free of EU control? Besides, we gave away RR years ago along with Jaguar and Land Rover and look how wealthy we all became as a result!

Just as we all had our bank balances healthily enlarged through selling off rail franchises and the major utilities, 'Brexit' is going to make us all better off - even the financially-starved NHS will receive huge amounts of money.......that's what this is about, isn't it?

What a complete and utter farce this has turned out to be! To continue with this nonsense will result in the biggest political F-Up in history.

May didn't really win the hearts and minds of the UN representatives in New York yesterday.

If ever a measure was needed of how the UK's influence in world affairs has been diminished over recent times, May's appearance in front of delegates in NY certainly demonstrated how little the UK matters nowadays among the world's other inhabitants.

'On Wednesday, Theresa May spoke to the United Nations on the topic of climate change – and was humiliatingly snubbed by a large majority of UN representatives.

Of a capacity of 255, only 108 turned up – and some of those left before she finished.

It seems the prospect of a lecture on environmental responsibility from the leader (in title at least) of a party that has imposed fracking on UK councils that had rejected planning applications is about as attractive to world leaders as it would be to the rest of us.

Theresa May and her team are pariahs that other nations consider irrelevant – and they need to be removed before they drag the whole nation down with them.'

it's kind of strange to watch Mr Trump at the UN making threats of wiping out 25 million North Koreans and claiming he'd do it for peace at the same time.
As far as I can see, North Korea did sign the nuclear no proliferation treaty, so should suffer some punishment but they can pull out of that treaty anytime.
(they did say they pulled out of NPT in 2003).

Mr Barnier said today:

“From our side, I repeat once again that an agreement is the best outcome. It is in our common interest. But if we want a deal, time is of the essence.”

Pressurizing the UK to come up with money plays straight into the arguments of hard brexiters. Time is the best weapon they have to reverse brexit.
To influence people, you need to show patience and understanding.

But time is of the essence and which side has wasted it. I agree that if one wants a negotiated result there needs to be give and take and respect for the other sides viewpoint and patience is an excellent virtue. But and it's a big but there is no evidence that a the UK side has a coherent strategy... how could it when the country and the parliament are divided or that they actually want to cut a deal.
