A clear case of.....how does it go....? 'Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others.' Bless her!
Or being charitable, perhaps it proves that people can learn and acknowledge that they were wrong?

She certainly seems to have since 2011.

Nope.it means she's realised there's likely to be a lot less money from the previous alternative she supported than she thought.

What's going on?
that's the lowest estimate.
It's more like 37 billions worth of tax by the time to add Scotland, Wales, NI and social care increases.
There is no brexit dividend, not now, not in 5, 10 or 15 years.
If the economy gets hit by a no deal brexit, it will be even worse.

.... Oh, and by the way, we`re building a £15bn bridge .....

Boris says so

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has given his backing to a proposed £15bn bridge linking Northern Ireland and Scotland.

The Telegraph has reported that Mr Johnson said the bridge should be "seriously" considered by the Government.

Goodd old Boris (some say) he also made this rather bizarre observation
"“It's the kind of ambitious project we need to make a success of Global Britain.”
By building a bridge from Northern Ireland to Scotland?
Hilarious!:D

Yep, agreed. DM has changed tack.
Does that mean she has learned not to make rash promises to divert attention?
Not a chance!

She really needs to leave plotting to someone with sufficient brains to make the plots believable
And yet the Right wing press will still witter on about this for as long as they did about Novichok.
Can't wait to see the next Jolly jape either she or the Jackass camp come out with.

The rich pay people to devise schemes which allow them to pay less tax than they should. The career dole-rats don’t pay anything, they just use and take. Looks like the mugs on PAYE will be supplying the fruit for the money tree.

He's a total idiot. When London Mayor he backed a crazy Garden Bridge over the Thames scheme and wasted £37 millions in research etc. Thank goodness Sadiq Khan cancelled it to prevent any more wastage.

Boris also wanted Heathrow scrapped and a whole new four runway airport built over the Thames estuary. Not only horrifically expensive but also impractical on an estuary occupied by thousands of birds, many of them large.

Of course he is backing such a bridge. How else do you create a hard border in the middle of the Irish Sea? Even if he has denied that will happen. Maybe, especially if he has denied that will happen.

Some things never change! Comme ci, Comme ça.....the lord giveth and the lord taketh away......the only two certainties in this life are death and taxes. What goes around comes around!....etc, etc.

There are probably lots more of those old adages but you are spot on, 'Tillson', about the PAYE element - only those whose tax is deducted at source will be penalised by a tax increase - the self-employed will avoid or evade it and the layabouts will escape it.

Your post still makes sense, to some, but I said DM, meaning Daily Mail... Think you've read TM...

On one level i would be delighted for there to be a bridge, or more realistically a rail tunnel. The distance is not too far. However I think one linking Dublin and north Wales would be more useful. The problem as i see it is that the population densities on both sides of the Irish sea off Rathlin is fairly low, you need to go up as far as Glasgow to find any population and the population in Belfast is also low. At a Dublin Wales nexus, once you get past the sparce Welsh north coast there is Liverpool and the dense conurbations of middle England, whereas on the Irish side, 30% of the population is beside it.

But with BREXIt not only will there be no money but also no will.

The SNP will be opposed, they want to be independent. Not joined even more to the UK, providing a truck route from Northern Ireland passing through Scotland on their way to England.

Far too limited in scope. We need a barrage - and traffic, rail and road, can run along the top. Just think how much electricity could be generated!

Could be real fun trying to decide whether any particular supplied kWh is "Irish" or "British" (or, indeed, "Welsh") for tax purposes.
