On my Orbea 50 it comes with a 44 teeth front sprocket and 11-36 tooth rear sprocket, as I primarily use it for off road and use it on steep uphill sections I feel it is over geared and I cannot keep up cadence to get up some of the tracks, is it worth changing down to a 38 tooth sprocket which is available online to help to keep me going as being highly geared I am losing grip on the rear wheel.

I am not too bothered about top speed as it is plenty fast down hill near where I live up to 60 KPH, but it is a slog back up again.

I changed mine to 38, makes big difference having that extra low gear. If you want to go lower again there are 11-40t 9spd cassettes or 11-42 10spd. May need new chain and research if derailleur can handle large sprocket.

Thank you Trevormonty, it's good to know someone else has done this, I will now order the sprocket.
