Cyclamatic Power Plus with 36v battery and controller

So I got my new controller and am having issues getting it to work with the cyclamatic, any suggestions? Here is the controller I bought.

It's not easy to make suggestions without knowing what the issues are. Here's some to get you started in case I'm a FMR:

Leave the soldering iron on a bit longer to get more heat into the joint.
Make sure that you don't use full throttle until it runs correctly.
Never guess what wires do. If you're not sure, check them with a voltmeter first.
You have to get the correct hall/phase connection sequence, which isn't always colour to colour
Connect the ignition wire.
