Cheers d8veh, as always, a fountain of knowledge. I think I'll just give it a miss. I'll stick with original plan of converting my old bike. Unless he decides to drop the cost, but I doubt he will.

The owner is only a 36v controller away from success.

If you wanted to be really really nice you could tell him, polish your halo and wait for karma to deliver your perfect ebike for buttons ;)

Just a quick question, still thinking of buying this, was thinking of just fitting a cheap basic controller to get me away, then upgrade to a better one later. Could I fit a 24v controller and run it on both the 24v and 36v battery until I know if both of the batteries are OK?

I’ve just fixed one of my older BH Neo’s up, which means I’ll be flogging 1 1/2 upgraded Cyclamatics next week. In Derby.

I think there’s 3 batteries between them, 1 fully working bike and 1 with a bent crank. I just want rid really - it took almost a year for me to find the time to fix my Neo.
