When the build is flawless they are superb, but small scale production of all these composites is too prone to human error during construction.

watching Velodrome racing earlier this year on telly and a carbon bike broke completely in half.

I've often wondered if it's generally the case that expensive bikes made of trendy materials have compromised strength to achieve low weight? (says he with the lightweight version of a Brompton with Titanium parts :eek: )

Wouldn't touch a carbon bike because I've seen too many pictures like this.
