Hello everyone. My name is Alistair, I'm 33 and live in Huddersfield West Yorkshire.
After a work location move closer to home I sold my car and invested in an ebike, and have not looked back. I 'went e' mainly because I am a geek at heart so the idea of some tech toys drew me in, but also because I hadn't cycled since I was a kid so was a cycle newbie. I have been commuting to work daily (come rain or shine) on an ebike for 18 months now. I have just ordered my second bike.
As i'm sure with many other ebike users my chosen transport has drawn attention and comments from others. mainly folk telling me i'm 'cheating' or 'lazy' (despite the fact that I go to the gym and play basketball). My response is to note that they didn't tell me I was lazy when I was driving to work… and how is it you get to work exactly?
In light of my new bike purchase i'm looking to sell my current bike. Will post a separate thread for advice.
